Wordless Wednesday: Murray Heller Warren

Daughter of Edward Morgan Warren and Sarah C. (Schriver) WarrenM. H. Warren was born 27 Sept 1854 in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He married Ida Lois Elderkin daughter of Dyer White Elderkin and Lois (King) Elderkin,  11 Aug 1877 in PA. He died 25 Mar 1925 while traveling. He died at the Hotel Green, Pasadena, California and is buried in Grave 12 Lot 2172 of Mountain View Cemetery, Pasadena, Orange County, CA. 

They were the parents of three known children: Murray Heller Warren JrLaura Blanche Warren wife of O. H. BerrymanSarah/Sadie Lois Warren wife of William Levis Judson (the one whose bridal portrait was restored). 

He is my great great grandfather.

My grandmother, Lois Jacqueline Judson Wells, attended this school c1920s-1930s.

Obituary: "Oilman Dies" - Gladewater, Texas, Jan. 21. - O. H. Berryman, 61, for 13 years superintendent of the General American gasoline plant here, died Thursday after a ling illness. His body is being sent to Houston. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Richmond of Houston; one grandson; two brothers, Robert and Cecil Berryman of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Mark Lang of Port Arthur and Mrs. Frank Hall of San Antonio.

Blanche was born Laura Blanche Warren on the 3rd of July 1881 in Pennsylvania to Murray Heller and Ida Lois (Elderkin) Warren. Possible birthplaces are: Spartansburg, Crawford County; Corry, Erie County; or Sawyer City, McKean County. Known events of her life are as follows:

  • 1900 - Age 19 - Residence, Rocky Hill Borough, Somerset, New Jersey [Census]
  • 1907 - Age 26 - Marriage to Otway Hazelhurst Berryman in Port Arthur, Texas [Newspaper Clipping]
  • 1908 - Age 27 - Birth of her daughter, Josephine Elderkin Hazlehurst Berryman Richmond, on 20th of December in Mexico. [Census, Social Security Death Index]
