Welcome to my genealogy blog! This is a record of my journey to discover the details between the dates. Some of my favorite blogging prompts are From the Shoebox, Wordless Wednesday, and Saturday Night Genealogy Fun (SNGF). I also post excerpts from historic household guides and cookbooks under Herstoryan's Hearth. Poems, pictures, crazy stories, and tip and tricks round out the rest. Use the search box below to zero in on a subject and feel free to leave a comment or share what you find. Don't forget to follow me on twitter! I look forward to sharing my stories with you.
Featured in the May 2010 issue of Family Tree Magazine. Thank you everyone for all your encouragement and support!
We all have a story to tell. Some speak louder than others. If you listen closely you can still hear the stories of our ancestors echoing under our footsteps. They are the authors. We are the keepers.

Very cool. Have you ever heard of or seen Jones Cemetery in near Leo, Cooke County? I fear it's been overtaken by weeds. Can't seem to locate any photos online. I need to get up there and see if I can find it. That's my Jones family.
No, sorry, I don't know of that cemetery. Have you ever tried to find it using satellite images from Google Maps? Cr 334 looks like it is the only road that heads west out of Leo; however, I have no idea which road is Cr 337 branching off from it. Do you have a county map that would show this? I have been known to look up telephone numbers of people who live next to rural cemeteries I'm trying to find just to see if they know of them. Have you submitted a request on the Find A Grave website? I know how frustrating it is not knowing if it is still there or not. Hmmm....
No, my Jones line has been troubling. A few months ago, I finally broke a brick wall that led me to Wiley Jones in Cooke County. I've just been so busy with other lines that I haven't given my Jones family the attention they deserve. I'm just worried that when I find it, it will just be weeds and grasshoppers.
